Hot Wheels/Bandai • Charawheels Series
Charawheels is a series of die-cast character vehicles sold only in Japan by Bandai while it was the Japanese importer of Mattel’s Hot Wheels; Bandai presented it as its first Hot Wheels. The series started in September 2000 with releases such as Charawheels 3 New Cyclone, Kamen Rider’s motorcycle with a Kamen Rider figure. The vehicles, at roughly 1:64 scale, came mainly from the Ultra, Kamen Rider and Metal Hero series, from ITC and other foreign productions, and from Sunrise anime. Sales continued until 2004, although the Bandai–Mattel partnership ended in 2002.
