Gundam • High Grade

High Grade (HG) is Bandai’s standard line of 1/144 scale Gunpla plastic model kits, launched in March 1990 for the tenth anniversary of Gunpla. The first four kits, released in 1990–91, renewed the Gundam, Gundam Mk-II, Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam with the technology of the time. HG kits are snap-fit and use multi-colour moulded parts so that they can be finished without painting. The grade later branched into series such as High Grade Universal Century (from 1999) and per-series HG ranges, and has also been used for other mecha franchises such as Evangelion and Mazinger. Since 2018 it has been produced by Bandai Spirits.
