Space Battleship Yamato • Mecha Collection (メカコレクション)

The Mecha Collection (“Mecha Colle”) is Bandai’s series of palm-sized plastic model kits of Space Battleship Yamato ships and craft, each about 12 cm long. It began at the end of January 1979 with ten kits from Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato, followed by kits from Yamato 2, The New Voyage, the first series and, in 1981, Yamato III, for a total of 30 kits ending with No. 30. The kits sold 8.5 million units in their first year and have been reissued several times, including a set of all 30 kits in 2004.
