Go-Bots • Super-Go Bots / Robo Machine

Machine Robo, a line of small transforming robots with die-cast bodies, was first released in 1982 by Popy, Bandai’s character division, and then by Bandai. Tonka sold a large part of it in North America as GoBots from 1983 to 1987, while Bandai sold the figures in the United Kingdom, France and other European countries as Robo Machine, using most of the Tonka names. The larger Super GoBots, about 12 to 15 cm tall in robot mode, came from the Machine Robo Scale Robo DX and Big Machine Robo lines. The moulds remained Bandai’s property and were only leased to Tonka.
