Godaikin

Godaikin

Godaikin is the line with which Bandai America brought Popy’s DX Chogokin robots, mostly 10 to 12 inches tall, to the North American market from 1982; the name combines gokin (‘alloy’) and dai (‘big’). Releases included Golion (the source of Voltron), Combattra, Daltanius, Godmars, Gordian and Voltes V, as well as Super Sentai robots such as Goggle V, Sun Vulcan and Dynaman. Later series added smaller standard figures and Big Scale vehicles and ships, for about 30 items over three series. Hampered by high prices and competition from Transformers and Gobots, the line was a commercial failure.
