Chogokin • GX Series (Soul of Chogokin)

Soul of Chogokin (GX numbering) is Bandai’s line of die-cast collector robots for adults, launched in December 1997 with GX-01 Mazinger Z and now one of the Tamashii Nations brands of Bandai Spirits. Dropping the toy-like arrangement of the 1970s Chogokin, it raised the target age to 15 and up to offer silhouettes faithful to the original designs, with gimmicks approached differently for each character. The line covers Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Getter Robo, Combattler V and Gaiking, robots once licensed to other toy makers such as Zambot 3, Daitarn 3 and Ideon, and ships from Space Battleship Yamato. Since 2018 the F.A. sub-series has offered non-transforming, highly posable figures about 180 mm tall.
