SilverHawks

Kenner’s SilverHawks line, based on the 1986 Rankin/Bass animated series, was released in 1987 after LJN passed on the licence, and ended in 1988. The first series had eight heroes (Quicksilver, Bluegrass, Steelheart, Steelwill, Copper Kidd, Stargazer, Hotwing and Flashback), each packed with a bird companion, and the villains of the Mob: Mon*Star, Buzz-Saw, Mo-Lec-U-Lar and Mumbo Jumbo. Several heroes have wings that spring up when their legs are squeezed, and the range also offered the Maraj transport ship and three large Attack Birds. Series Two (1988) added Condor, Moon Stryker, Hardware, Windhammer and Ultrasonic Suit versions, before falling sales after the cartoon’s cancellation ended the line.
