DC • Super Powers

Kenner launched the Super Powers Collection in 1984 after DC Comics awarded it the master toy licence for its characters, and released three series of figures and accessories until the line was cancelled in February 1986. The figures combine moderate articulation with hidden power action mechanisms triggered by squeezing their arms or legs. The line eventually counted 34 figures, eight vehicles such as the Batmobile and the Supermobile, the Hall of Justice playset and a carrying case. Jack Kirby redesigned his New Gods characters such as Darkseid for the line, which also introduced the original characters Cyclotron and Golden Pharaoh, and DC published three tie-in comic mini-series.
