Dusty “Powderkeg” Hayes

Dusty "Powderkeg" Hayes is an agent of M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), the secret task force led by Matt Trakker. At twenty-five, he is one of the younger members of the team. In civilian life he works as a pizza cook and delivery driver, having previously earned his living as an auto and marine stunt driver. Within M.A.S.K. he serves as the team's tracking, demolitions, and all-terrain specialist. He pilots Gator, a CJ7 Jeep that can release a concealed hydroplane to pursue enemies across water. His mask, Backlash, generates a sonic energy lash that repels incoming attacks and knocks obstacles down. Dusty is easygoing and friendly, though he tends to get worked up once the action begins. He speaks with a pronounced Southern American accent and a fondness for colourful regional sayings. In the animated series he was voiced by Doug Stone and first appeared in the pilot episode "The Deathstone."
