Chogokin • GA Series

The GA series is the first numbering of Popy’s Chogokin, die-cast character toys launched in February 1974 as a tie-in to the anime Mazinger Z. The toys combine zinc die-cast and ABS plastic parts, and almost all of them include the Rocket Punch gimmick. The numbering runs from GA-01 Mazinger Z to GA-99 Daltanious in 1979 and covers robots and heroes from many anime and tokusatsu shows; the larger, transforming “DX Chogokin” format began with Raideen. Abroad, Popy’s Chogokin were sold by Mattel as Shogun Warriors.
