Takara • Beast Wars Neo
Beast Wars Neo is Takara’s second Japan-original Beast Wars line-up, released in 1999 with the Beast Wars Neo anime. Unlike Beast Wars II, it was mostly made of all-new sculpts: Cybertrons based on mammals against Destrons based on dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, almost every new mould having a third “attack mode”. Some of the toys were later released by Hasbro, but most remain unreleased outside Japan, and the line was very short-lived in shops. It was made by Takara, before the 2006 Takara Tomy merger.
