Transformers
Transformers is a media franchise produced by Hasbro and Takara Tomy, launched in 1984 with a toy line based on earlier Takara transforming toys such as Diaclone and Microman. The story centers on alien robotic lifeforms able to change form, most often divided between the heroic Autobots and the Decepticons, locked in a long conflict for power, survival or peace. Since its debut, Transformers has expanded far beyond toys, with comics, animated series, video games and films.
The plot follows two rival factions of transforming alien robots whose war reaches Earth. As the Autobots and Decepticons clash, the future of the planet becomes part of their larger struggle.
