Ali “Lightning” Bombay

Ali "Lightning" Bombay is an agent of M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), the secret task force led by Matt Trakker. Carrying the codename "Lightning," he is an immigrant from the town of Kandukar in India, and the team's files describe him as a peacemaker. Introduced in the show's second season, he is a skilled and daring rider. In the episode "Homeward Bound" he returns to Kandukar for some rest, only to find VENOM agents terrorizing the village and forcing the locals to mine a fallen meteorite, prompting him to take a stand against them. He later competes in the Masters Challenge Race in "Challenge of the Masters," with Ace Riker as his backup. Within M.A.S.K. he pilots Bullet (also released as Bandit), a street motorcycle that converts into a hovercraft. His mask, Vortex, generates a powerful cyclone capable of throwing objects into turmoil or digging a deep hole. In the animated series he was voiced by Brian George and first appeared in the episode "Homeward Bound."
