Watchmen
Watchmen is a twelve-issue comic book series written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons, published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987, regarded as one of the greatest graphic novels. It was adapted into a film by Zack Snyder in 2009 and continued with Before Watchmen, Doomsday Clock and the HBO series Watchmen (2019).
In an alternate 1985 where costumed vigilantes have been outlawed and the United States and the Soviet Union stand on the brink of nuclear war, the masked vigilante Rorschach investigates the murder of the Comedian. His inquiry reunites the former members of the Watchmen, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, the godlike Doctor Manhattan and Ozymandias, and uncovers a conspiracy to save the world at a terrible price.
