The Lone Ranger
The Lone Ranger is an American Western franchise created in 1933 as a radio drama on WXYZ in Detroit, which became a hit television series from 1949 to 1957 with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. It was adapted into comics, novels and films, including Disney’s The Lone Ranger (2013), directed by Gore Verbinski with Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp.
Texas Ranger John Reid is the only survivor of an ambush by the outlaw Butch Cavendish's gang that killed his brother and fellow Rangers. Nursed back to health by the Comanche warrior Tonto, he hides his identity behind a black mask and, riding his white horse Silver with Tonto at his side, fights for justice in the Old West.
