The Elusive Samurai
The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jozu no Wakagimi) is a historical manga by Yusei Matsui, the author of Assassination Classroom, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2021. CloverWorks adapted it into a television anime that premiered in July 2024.
In 1333, the Kamakura shogunate falls after the betrayal of Ashikaga Takauji, and the Hojo clan is wiped out. Its young heir, Hojo Tokiyuki, survives thanks to an exceptional gift for running away. Taken in by Suwa Yorishige, the living god of the Suwa shrine, he gathers a band of allies and turns flight itself into a weapon in his quest to take back the country.
