Tekkaman Blade

Space Knight Tekkaman Blade is a 49-episode science-fiction action anime produced by Tatsunoko Production and directed by Hiroshi Negishi, broadcast on TV Tokyo from 1992 to 1993 as a reimagining of the 1975 Tekkaman: The Space Knight. It was dubbed in English as Teknoman and followed by the OVA sequel Tekkaman Blade II.

In the United Earth year 192, Earth is invaded by the Radam, an alien race of monsters and armoured warriors called Tekkamen, operating from a ship on the far side of the Moon. Takaya Aiba, a crewman of the exploration ship Argos, was captured by the Radam but freed by his father before his mind was taken over. Calling himself D-Boy, he joins the Space Knights defence organisation and fights the Radam as Tekkaman Blade, aided by the support robot Pegas after his transformation crystal is shattered. The Tekkamen he must fight are his own brainwashed family and friends, including his twin brother Shinya as Tekkaman Evil and his elder brother Kengo as Tekkaman Omega. Gaining the Blaster Tekkaman form at the cost of his memories, Blade destroys the Radam, but is left amnesiac and cared for by Aki.
