Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow is a 1999 gothic horror film directed by Tim Burton, loosely adapted from Washington Irving’s 1820 short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. It won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction.
In 1799, the New York constable Ichabod Crane, a believer in scientific methods, is sent to the village of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of beheadings. The villagers blame the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a Hessian mercenary, and Ichabod, with the help of the young Katrina Van Tassel, uncovers the plot behind the killings.
