Plawres Sanshiro
Plawres Sanshiro is a Japanese manga written by Jirō Gyū and drawn by Minoru Kamiya, serialised in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion from 1982 to 1985, and adapted into an anime television series broadcast from 1983 to 1984. Its title is short for “Plastic Model Wrestling Sanshiro”.
In a world where Plawres, wrestling between computer-controlled plastic model robots, is a popular sport, young Sanshiro Sugata, grandson of a judo master, enters the ring with Juohmaru, the PlaWrestler he built with his friends. Bout after bout he faces rival modelers such as the champion Gendou Kurosaki, then discovers that the arms dealer José Garcia wants to turn the Plawres technology created by his late father into a weapon.
