Platoon
Platoon is a 1986 American war film written and directed by Oliver Stone, drawing on his own experience as an infantryman in Vietnam, starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe. It won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
In 1967, the young volunteer Chris Taylor arrives in Vietnam and joins an infantry platoon near the Cambodian border. Caught in the brutality of the war, he is torn between two sergeants who embody its two faces: the ruthless, scarred Barnes and the humane Elias.
