Kaiju No. 8
Kaiju No. 8 is a Japanese manga by Naoya Matsumoto, serialised on Shōnen Jump+ from 2020 to 2025, adapted into an anime series by Production I.G in 2024. It follows a man who becomes a kaiju while dreaming of fighting them.
In a Japan regularly attacked by giant kaiju, 32-year-old Kafka Hibino cleans up kaiju corpses, having given up his childhood promise to join the Defense Force with his friend Mina Ashiro, now its star captain. When a small kaiju enters his body, he gains the power to transform into a kaiju. Hiding his identity as Kaiju No. 8, he joins the Third Division to fight at her side.
