Fantastic Four
The Fantastic Four are a Marvel Comics superhero team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, first appearing in Fantastic Four #1 in 1961. Often presented as a loving but imperfect family, the team helped bring a more human and realistic tone to superhero comics. Unlike many heroes, they do not hide behind secret identities and are publicly known figures. Over the years, they have faced major Marvel characters such as Doctor Doom, Galactus, Namor, Silver Surfer, Annihilus and the Skrulls, while also appearing in animated series and live-action films.
The Fantastic Four gain their powers after being exposed to cosmic rays during a space mission. Reed Richards becomes Mister Fantastic, able to stretch his body; Sue Storm becomes the Invisible Woman, with invisibility and force fields; Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch, able to fly and control flames; and Ben Grimm becomes the Thing, a powerful, stone-skinned hero with immense strength.
