Fafner in the Azure
Fafner in the Azure is a Japanese mecha anime television series produced by Xebec and first broadcast in 2004, followed by the special Right of Left (2005), the film Heaven and Earth (2010) and the sequels Exodus (2015) and The Beyond (2019–2021).
The peaceful Tatsumiya Island hides a secret: it is a fortress built to resist the Festum, silicon-based alien beings that are assimilating humanity. When the Festum find the island, the teenager Kazuki Makabe is chosen to pilot the giant robot Fafner Mark Elf, a weapon that slowly consumes the bodies and minds of its young pilots.
