Vortex (Double dragon)
Vortex
Vortex is a supporting character in the Double Dragon animated series.
Vortex was a boy who was trained by John Lee and later orphaned by the Shadow Warriors. One of those taking part in the attack was Sickle, whose blades Vortex barely escaped.
Vortex grew up as a homeless man and became guardian of several homeless kids, but was forced to fight in the Shadow Warriors' gladiatorial games for the kids' safety. Billy and Jimmy Lee saved the kids and made Vortex a "Dragon Warrior".
It was later revealed that Vortex was illiterate, the reason being having to live on the streets after the Shadow Warriors killed his parents.
