DC Direct’s action figures based on Alex Ross’s painted artwork for Kingdom Come, the 1996 DC Comics miniseries written by Mark Waid. Three waves were released: Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Alan Scott) and Hawkman, then Batman, Red Robin, Captain Marvel and Kid Flash, then Magog, the Flash, an armored Wonder Woman and Deadman, plus a Red Arrow exclusive to ToyFare magazine. The first wave came out in 2003 and was poorly received, with improved sculpts in the following waves.
