Origin of Valkyrie is Bandai’s line of renewed reissues of the 1/55 transformable VF-1 Valkyrie from Super Dimension Fortress Macross, the toy first released in 1982 by Takatoku Toys. Launched in 2008 for the 25th anniversary of Macross, it kept the original transformation and sculpt with a few updated specifications and new packaging: VF-1J (Hikaru Ichijo) and VF-1S (Roy Focker) in July 2008, then the VF-1A Super Valkyries of Hikaru Ichijo and Maximilian Jenius in August 2008. Tamashii Nations revived the line for the 45th anniversary with ABS and die-cast versions adding head and leg articulation, scheduled for January and March 2027.
