Bandai • DX Chogokin (Macross)

DX Chogokin (DX超合金) is a premium collector toy line produced by Bandai Spirits under its Tamashii Nations brand. Launched in December 2008 with the first releases from Macross Frontier, the line specializes in highly detailed, perfectly transformable Variable Fighter replicas from the Macross metaseries. Each figure converts between three modes — Fighter (jet aircraft), Gerwalk (hybrid), and Battroid (humanoid mech) — and is constructed from a combination of ABS plastic, PVC, and die-cast metal parts, giving the toys a satisfying weight and durability. The line covers multiple Macross entries including Super Dimension Fortress Macross (1/48 scale), Macross Frontier, Macross 7, Macross Plus, Macross Delta, and the Macross 30 video game. Figures typically include pilot figures, interchangeable hand parts, weapons, and dedicated display stands. Price points range from approximately 12,000 to 38,500 JPY depending on complexity and accessories.
